Brother Daniel

The laid back elder of the church who unlike the others insists on being called Brother Daniel. He is currently dating Lola Chapters.

Early Life[]

Born and bred in Grasmere Valley, he had always an easy going laid back manner. Some deem him too relaxed and not being ambitious or confrontational. Regardless, he ended up becoming one of the elders of the church in Gracefield. He insisted on being called Brother Daniel as he liked the ring to it. This is something no one else is called at the church. His laid back easy going manner greatly contrasted with that of Mr Gerrow who is fellow elder known to be miserable, grumpy and grouchy. Despite this there is some evidence to suggest Brother Daniel and Mr Gerrow were good friends.

Volume 1[]

He is among those listed as a citizen of Grasmere Valley from Volume 1.

As an elder he was among those hired the new pastor Gary Robinson replacing Jeffry King after his death from a heart attack along with Phillip, Garret Jones, Mr Gerrow, Mr Ambrose, Elijah and Walter Cooperfield.

Julie, Julia and Ms Izodel start spreading rumors that Mr Gerrow is in fact bankrupt and that Brother Daniel, known to be a lot relaxed than Mr Gerrow fired him as an elder due to his bankruptcy being used as an excuse in order to make way for Gary Robinson who was an emergent and having an affair to become the pastor of the church. All these statements however which Daisy took to be true, so much so she picketed at the picnic that welcomed Gary as their new pastor, turn out to be very much false. In fact Mr Gerrow who had been absent recently was in the hospital having a cataract operations and the truth is revealed during the picnic.

Brother Daniel is at the hotel, as he is attending a conference at the Tailgate hospital when Queen Constance is in disguise hiding from King Eglon who was trying to get her to marry him. When being tracked down by Mephiboseth and Ezikiel , Queen Constance assuming they were working for King Eglon tried to run away from them. She climbs onto the balcony outside Brother Daniel's hotel room. He is fast asleep and Queen Constance manages to run through his room without being detected. When she falls ion the stairs and makes a loud scream, Brother Daniel is awakened and sees what is happening and her scream also alerts to Mephiboseth and Ezikiel where she is and go after her. It turns out the two just wanted to ask Queen Constance whether she would like to attend a trip with King Fufu to South Africa. Brother Daniel wondered if they have never heard of using email to contact her instead.

His name was suggested to be among the four runners of carrying the torch for the 2012 Olympics.

Volume 2[]

Brother Daniel is leading the band playing at the 77th annual dance marathon competition with Master Lodger, Ivan, Marvin King III and Mama who was providing the vocals.

Volume 5[]

When Mr Grasmere and Mrs Grasmere have taken over Grasmere Valley, Brother Daniel is seen as among those going to the Town Hall being very accepting of the fact.

The Tales of Grasmere Valley at Christmas 3[]

He is at the hotel as are the entire town for Christmas day as everyone is snowed in and can't go anywhere. He ends up joining in the Snowball fight that Moss organises. He comments with Jerdi how Moss is very excitable over this as he is not a person who is usually that excited. He ends up being taken out during the game by Moss.

Volume 21[]

Brother Daniel is at church when Raquel Venici storms in while Gary Robinson is preaching. Brother Daniel has been finding Brother Daniel very boring of late and clearly is tiering of him. She declares to everyone there that he in fact had a past of committing domestic abuse to his ex-girlfriend after she wanted to keep their child they were having. After such an abuse he forced her to have an abortion and all of this is a police record that Raquel managed to obtain. The congregation in particularly Garret are stunned as he asks Gary if this is true to which Gary Robinson admits this took place but that he repented of it many years ago and it was all before he became a Christian. However the elders agree that someone of his reputation can no longer be a pastor and Mr Ambrose informs him in front of everyone that he is no longer fit for the job due to his past. Gary pleads on his knees to keep his job, but this fails to take place and Brother Daniel, having found him boring and many being detracted away from the church saw it as a perfect excuse to get a new pastor in.

After Gary Robinson is removed from the pulpit following his past of abusing his ex-girlfriend and forcing her to have an abortion, being among the elders they discuss as to who they should replace. When Tim Drixall turns up to offer his services, Brother Daniel is beyond delighted with Tim. He had long for someone who can attract a crowd and is instantly taken by this manly dynamic man. The other elders aren't as keen but Brother Daniel believes he is answer to make the church more, hip, relevant and dynamic. Anthony Hall, is very concerned by having him as pastor especially in regards to doctrine but the other elders upon answering him questions overrule his concerns as they end up gladly accepting Tim as their new pastor. Brother Daniel in particularly seems to not care about doctrine at all and is more interested in getting people in the building. This succeeds for a while with Brother Daniel overjoyed with the many movie references that Tim Drixall makes in the pulpit. However when Adam Robinson reveals during Tim Drixall's debut on Spirit TV at the church of his adulterous relationship with Raquel Venici, his conman status and saying he had enough evidence for him to be placed in prison, with the duo running away being exposed, the elders too realise the big mistake they have made with appointing him and want to appoint back Gary Robinson as they go to the stage with Garret understanding the need to PR, Brother Daniel cowering at the back for being so happy to get rid of Gary while Anthony who never liked Tim boldly leading the group to do the right thing. However Gary upon the way he was treated with his dismissal refuses and announces that he and his wife Meg Robinson were leaving town never to return, much to all the elders shock.

After coming back from Church, the gang soon realise with a visit from Gary Robinson that he is leaving with his wife to Africa to adopt a child. When Nanny Prescot and Devon visit the hairdressers they find out that Gary was forced out by Wilma Timber who threat to pull back financial support if they did not have a new pastor. Afterwards the entire gang plus Mrs Ambrose, Daisy, Mr Ambrose, Janet Herman, Brother Daniel and Wilma Timber along with other people who turned out to be hired by the new pastor come to see CD Cakes the new pastor in a trial sermon. Gary soon comes in , due to Devon’s invitation and he comes in during when CD talks about someone he knew who he thought wasn’t a Christian because they couldn’t have a child which turns out to be Gary and his wife. CD Cakes is soon forced out and despite Wilma withdrawing her money Nanny Prescot vows for her family to contribute and as a result the church will stay open.
