Anne Dontos

The wife of the lovable Mayor James Dontos, she is just as kind and caring as him. With bearing six children into the world her entire life has been devoted to support her children and her husband by being a housewife.

Early Life[]

Anne was born in Elysian Fields and grew up there as a single child to loving hard working parents. At 18 years of age, she moved to Grasmere Valley after she had met James Dontos in her teens and the pair began to get married. Anne always standing by James decides to be a housewife and ends up raising her six children Ivan Dontos, Harvey Dontos, James Dontos II, Harper Dontos, Kristina Dontos and Merry Dontos.

Even though she doesn't have an official role in politics, to many she is the mother of the town, loving her husband and children and being a great support for James and the entire town.

The Tales of Grasmere Valley Novels[]

Volume 1[]

The Dontos are labelled as citizens of Grasmere Valley from Voulme 1.

When her son Harvey Dontos was getting engaged with Vera Cullingham she is alarmed by the relationship due to Vera's age and the short length of time they have been together as is her husband. She is seen talking to Del who brought her in as he tries to convince Anne that Vera is a black widow having murdered her previous four husband. She is not sure but is visibly shaken. Vera is at the police station when this conversation happened as she is there to report someone stealing her purse.

Not sure what to think she decided to take a look at Vera Mansion. Her maids, Stephanie Rosebell and Clara Rosebell let her in. There they find Harvey's picture slashed,machete, battle axe and other equipment which demonstrated she definitely is. Del brings Vera to the Dontos house after he takes down notes about Vera's mugging. There he reveals Vera is a black widow with evidence and that Harvey is the next victim is expressed by Anne. Vera says she never loved Harvey and only wanted him for his money and is arrested leaving Harvey is heartbroken.

Anne and James are saddened by what happened to Harvey. James and Harvey go on a fishing trip as he tries to have a heart to heart with Harvey. He is not sure if he will be able to get through to him. However they are soon happy to hear that Harvey has become a Christian, and repented and put his trust in Jesus, wanting to tell others about Jesus.

Volume 2[]

Anne Dontos love for books written by Thomas Taylor is referenced once again when talking about stories that are weaved which are creative and hyperbolic.

The impressionable T.J is said to have been a student of The Dontos Dynasty.

Volume 4[]

During the fictional case which Jack Strawberry is trying of whether Marge stole the cookie from James Dontos's cookie jar, James testifies the whole family went on holiday to the country when the 'crime occurred'.

Volume 8[]

With the race for elections happening, Harvey has gotten into a relationship with Tessa Crab who he is running as Vice Prime Minister with her going for Prime Minister. She uses him and dumps him.

The family angered to see Harvey once again being used decide to get back at Tessa Crab with Harper Dontos in the lead but James and Anne supporting. They manage to dose Isaac and Tessa Crab in chlorophyll so they would pass out, and place the pair in the hospital so they would not say their key address for their Prime Minister nomination. The winners in the end were shock to many as none other than Mr Gardiner as Prime Minister and Julie as Vice Prime Minister won the vote.

Holly Alto ends up beginning to have a relationship with Harvey Dontos. She meets the parents James Dontos and Anne Dontos who now insist on meeting Harvey's significant others, due to his track history with girls. She tries to hide her past and having family who a knee deep in crime and the mafia. The truth is soon revealed and while James and Anne were rather hesitant, understanding Holly is not like her parents they allow the relationship although have very strict instructions for the pair.

Volume 17[]

James Dontos and Anne go on holiday to France which leads to James Dontos II in charge of the town during when they experience the town needing to have more money to re-do the town which is clearly struggling and in need of improvements.

The Tales of Grasmere Valley Going for Gold[]

Anne Dontos manages to direct Darrick Jones who has an important letter for James Dontos to the tea he was having with the PTA Ladies. The letter turns out to reveal the death of The Boardman and also the beginning of finding the money he had coned out of the town many years ago. James rushes off to find it but with the letter being left behind soon this information is leaked to the entire town.

James doesn't realise the leak has happened until he sees everyone looking for the money. His wife Anne Dontos and his son James Dontos II join him as they try to figure out where it could be that it has not be disturber since 1964 as indicated in the letter. James realises rather loudly, not having subtitle that it must be in the graveyard. Champaine who is behind them hears James and even loudly declares where it is causing for everyone to charge to the graveyard. The three eventually are at the graveyard and have a look at the log book of cremations and urns as they believe the money must be in one from back 1964. When James Dontos figured out where it is, not wanting him to spill the beans, James Dontos II has him whisper it to him and the suggests for James and Anne to pretend to find it in a different place and reveal it loudly so they have time to retrieve the money for the town.

Henry Jack is doing his cross country run, he cuts through the grave yard and bump his toe to an urn of Pastor Lewis Herbert name on it with the date 1940-1964. He is worried about the ashes but instead he finds loads of money there which turns out to be the money that has been swindled by The Boardman and Pastor Lewis Herbert back in 1964 which was kept safe there for all those years. As he is trying to understand what is happening, Pastor Lewis who turns out to be alive and well appears. Pastor Lewis had got a letter from his partner The Boardman where the money was following his death as he never trusted Lewis with the money despite being part of the con. James Dontos II comes into the scene and explains what Lewis is up to as Henry is unaware. In the end Henry begins running with the urn of money with Lewis following it managing to run quite fast despite being rather old, James Dontos II following that with James Dontos alerting to them writing all those on the hunt of the missing money join suit. Henry ends up running to the police station much to Lewis horror as he gives the money in. Adam Robinson who is at the station arrests Lewis who seems unrepentant and gleeful that nothing will happen to him because he is too old and the crime was so long. Adam admits that it may not see in a conviction but they will see the case through. James Dontos remarks if he feared God and his judgement but Pastor Lewis seems to think he will be fine with the afterlife by his deeds and does not fear it. However as he leaves to go to prison, it seems he realises that James Dontos is right and he should fear the Lord. James Dontos was worried that Henry was going to take the money for himself which he confirms he would never do that as he loves the town and sees everyone as his friends which James Dontos his wife Anne and James Dontos II are indeed happy of Henry Jack's loyalty to the town.

Volume 24[]

When James Dontos is severely ill and he is believed to be on deaths door, there are those already wanting to pounce on this moment and take over as mayor of the town. The entire Dontos family are around him at his bed while the town are outside of his house holding vigil to see if he'll make it. James Dontos II want to get help but Ivan is very suspicious about this. Merry Dontos seem to act very irreverently to the whole situation as she keeps making of colour comments and doesn't seem to act like she cares much about the situation. James Dontos II and Tori end up going outside the house into the crowd as they try to find a doctor to which they end up coming up to Dr Nathan Jones and Dr Keith Brook. They come along to examine him but Ivan Dontos refuses for them to touch him as he feels James Dontos II wants their father dead so he can take over as mayor. James Dontos II is hurt and Anne Dontos, James's wife and their mother finds it absurd and they allowed to look at him. They reveal that only a miracle cure could save him which can only be taken from another country but it would take too long before he would die or the cure had to be made in Grasmere Valley which is very unlikely as the ingredients are very hard to find.

James Dontos is gravelly ill from a mysterious very rare illness which no one is sure how to cure. The town is in great panic as it is clear James Dontos is close to death. Anne is by his side, hoping something will happen in order to save his life. As this happens soon there is a great scramble for power of those wanting to become the new mayor. Michelle Novak is already black mailing he likes of Paul Templeton to gain support while Tessa Crab is already planning the funeral despite James still being alive.

It is about to be revealed by Dr Nathan Jones in front of the crowd that was gathered outside the Dontos household to find out what was happening with him James update when everyone assuming James had passed away, the crowd made such noise about his passing and soon the crowd chased after Tessa Crab whose trying to claim James named her as his successor for being a mayor. It turned James while gravely ill was still alive. In that time Jason Harrow managed to come into the house with the cure he managed to make and it took immediate affect and cured him. The family so grateful for this are seen outside the house smiling when the crowd returns after James Dontos has revealed he is a live and well. Everyone is very grateful for what Jason Harrow had done in saving James Dontos's life.

Volume 27[]

Harvey and Holly get married and Holly moves into the Dontos household.

Supporting her husband James Dontos as he faced reelection against Michelle Novak as a result of the Fifth Way Cult mass suicide and the mishandling of the situation, Anne found herself in the hospital having angina from the stress of Michelle's vicious attacks during her campaign. Whilst there she is among those whose life end up in danger by Tess Hathaway who is sent by Michelle Novak with Tess Hathaway's sidekick Isaac Guardo to try and take out all the political enemies that may threaten Michelle becoming Mayor. Tess Hathway being a voodoo healer starts with Isaac giving everyone herbs and other items claiming to heal them but in fact she is trying to kill them. Anne initially thinks its Dr Amanda Hathaway, Tess's sister and when hearing what Tess did doing strongly wants nothing to do with it. Amanda sees what is happening and know Tess Hathaway is up to no good manages to track her down as tried to run away and stop her. Most of the patients were fine with no complication, however Anne did have trouble to breath but with the help of Dr Keith Brooks was brought back to health. Tess ends up revealing that Michelle was behind it all and this causes Michelle to pull out of the race causing for James Dontos to win.

Volume 35[]

The Dontos family all tried to avoid getting involved with Ruth Ogden and Dr John Ogden but Mrs Bath tries to use the families neutral position as an excuse to hijack James Dontos's mayor position by strongly siding with Ruth as she is wronged by Dr John's unfaithfulness and Mrs Bath had been herself. However when it is revealed that her daughter Alvia Bath's boyfriend Darren Sussex had been proven to have an affair with Henrietta Rogers, Mrs Bath is labelled a hypocrite and her chance of getting power is dashed.

Ten Years of Grasmere Valley[]

Anne Dontos organises the celebrations for ten years since the first Volume of The Tales of Grasmere Valley being published. The entire town will descend at the hotel to celebrate with The Truger Girls, Lance Luciano, Beatrice Lothario and Victor Crosse helping out in the kitchen. Anne a big fan of the books has always wondered who the author was. Despite it being Thomas Taylor she believes it is not the authors real name and wonders how the author can know everything that happens in the town, such as Drew Fuller being buried alive and what was happening to him at the time, details that he hadn't shared with anyone else. Anne hopes to attract the author to the event. Daisy, Nanny Prescot and The Truger Girls get discussing away as they reminisce about their time in Grasmere Valley as well as Anne's plan to find the real author. Daisy realises it was ten years since Gary Robinson came into the town, which is a shore subject as he is now in prison. As they are discussing this Katie Mells, Gary's pen pal and new girlfriend appears giving them an icy reception as she sees them responsible for him being in prison. As Sally Truger and Cindy Truger worry about the kitchen, Anne, Daisy and Nanny Prescot are determined to find the author of the books.

As Anne, Daisy and Nanny Prescot on their hunt to find the author they end up teaming up with Darren Sussex at the event. Darren is also trying to find the real author so he can get the rights to it to make a film about the town and hope it will be the perfect vehicle to cause for Alvia Bath to come back to him. As they are talking away, Sissy Baptiste the famed author can hear this and is caught in a conversation with Liz Marsh and Esther Matthews who she finds rather boring. Liz mentions she wrote her book The Well was rejected by publishers and Esther a University student hopes Liz's gets the recognition. A Sissy leaves them she ends up invading James Dontos the mayor having a conversation with Johann and Yasmin. She demands to make an announcement which she ends up holding court and revealing she is the author of The Tales of Grasmere Valley book. This announcement is met with sceptism as this famed woman had never been one for being humble and not telling people what she wrote. She then goes straight to Darren wanting to sell the rights for the book for £50 Million. Drew Fuller who is there goes to Sissy and is so grateful for her writing the book and how she knew so much of his life and he wants Darren to accept the deal despite it being steep so his story of coming to Christ can be revealed to many on film for people to now be believers. As Anne mentions Sissy's only book besides The tales of Grasmere Valley she has released The Well, it causes for Esther and Liz ears top pick up and enter in the conversation. Esther reveals she had been doing a dissertation on Sissy saying she felts something never sat right that she never got her book made into a film, didn't seem to know much of the material she had to have written and at that moment she realised Liz's story was taken by Sissy Baptiste who published it as her own and got all the money from it. Not wanting her deed to be exposed she never allowed to make it into a film. Sissy found out and unrepentant admits she didn't write either book but since no one claimed the rights in the later she still wants to make a deal with Darren however she get's a call from her agent that she has been cancelled by society leaving her to fall on the floor by such an action. It is also revealed that Liz will be taking Sissy to court over money owed to her for the book she wrote.

When she was exposed many left the event and Anne feels deflated that the real author didn't come but Cindy helps says very encouraging words to her as Anne felt distant by many in the town and felt the book was a window to a world fast changing in the town. Cindy as well as Daisy and Nanny Prescot help for Anne to realise that the town still is very much family and if they go to places like the hairdressers they can feel the true town atmosphere she is after. As Anne and Cindy talk they find a note near the door of the hotel which was left by the real author saying how while the author would not reveal themselves that they were there today, that they loved everything that Anne did but felt it wasn't time to reveal but no matter what to know that the town is deeply loved. With the note Anne decides to close her mission of finding out who the author is.

Volume 40[]

She and James Dontos are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary and are having the entire town come to celebrate the event. Nearly everyone in the town comes to celebrate it. The couple are alarmed when Mary Major claims they were an inspiration for her finding love and Anne Dontos had to fend of Cynthia Haslam pretending to be great friends with her despite hardly knowing her however the event goes on well but things change when James Dontos II reveals to them via Tori Dontos that Jenna Parish is alive had been attacked and was being chased to be killed by Cliff Clifford and Norman Grayson finishing off what Drew Grayson started. James is desperate therefore to cancel the wedding and he attempts to do so but Tilly Truenoe takes the spot that James Dontos II was to speak as she want to use it to take a selfie and claim she loves the couple and promote her cameo in Vampires vs Zombies 4: Tokyo Drift saying it was in their honour. As James says it is not there kind of film trying to get word the anniversary is cancelled to find Jenna, Tilly reveals how she finds the event dead and them boring as she was offended by them not liking the film. James roars back pointing out how selfish and entitled she is to which the room erupts in applause and he also mentions Jenna's life's hand is in the balance. In this embarrassment, Tilly runs away and James manages to get everyone else in the hall to go out and try and find Jenna before it is too late. They end up finding Jenna Parish alive but needing medical attention in the arms of her husband Russell Parish who ended up rescuing him.

Despite everything including them cancelling their own wedding anniversary Ashley Nelson ends up hosting an after party from the event which is very rowdy!

Harvey Dontos mentions him almost marrying Vera Cullingham during the testimony time where it is believed to be the last night before the town is evicted. He mentions how he is grateful that he avoided marrying her and grateful for his mother Anne Dontos for putting a stop to that with the help of Del.

She is also referenced by Miss Adams when Ricardo Mevez wonders why Miss Adams referred to Volume 15, as Miss Adams says how Anne knows about all the books.

Volume 50[]

James and Anne are among those there at the celebration of the 50th volume as organised by King Augebus and Queen Anna Westphailia. Anne is so excited hoping to see the author Thomas Taylor there and being such a big fan of the books. King Augebus himself get's to talk to them. The duo are beyond impressed as they go in and see the exhibits beginning with the wedding arch that Johann had used to propose to Yasmin under all they way back in volume 1. Each volume has an exhibit for what happened in the volume and their wedding anniversary layout plans are among the exhibits at the celebration at exhibit 40.

James and Anne are around when Sam Darlton is panicking over his wife Natalie Darlton on the night to be take away in marriage by King Augebus at the end of the night and is there as this reality is revealed. James finds King Augebus reprehensible for what he is doing. In the end the place get's destroyed by a firework in exhibit 30 that King Augebus and Queen Anna Westphailia tried to use to kill everyone. Everyone however is fine and the contents in it. The two end up running away. As Sam ends up renewing his wedding vows with Natalie as well as Mikel Alexandre-Goxen marries Emma Adams , James suggest to use as their vehicle Cliff Clifford's carriage which had been exhibit 38 to which they do and the entire town who is there end up pulling it.

Nanny Prescot decides to hold a Wedding Show at her house where they go through the videos of their weddings and then pick the winner of whose weddings was the best. Among the couples are James Dontos and Anne Dontos along with the couples who come are Pamela Thornton and David Thornton, Harvey Robinson and Elle Robinson, Ryan Carey and Kate Carey, Eric Gladville and Gladice Gladville, Jay Karl and Mikey Karl, and Damian Burchens and Ruth Burchens.

James and Anne have grainy photos of their big day as opposed to video as it was so long ago and they show the the pictures to everyone. Damian and Ruth end up winning The Wedding Show and they all dance to Steven Curtis Chapman performing.

Episode 33 Zoom Town Hall Meeting []

James is organising a virtual town hall meeting via Zoom. Anne is glad but not sure if it will really work having a town hall meeting via Zoom and that it might be a car crash. She also mentions she is on the nextdoor app and wanted to keep in contact with people in the town but all she got was complaints from Designated Complainer Shirley. Anne is by her husband side as the meeting takes place but in the end the meeting descends into chaos with them all talking and with the meeting finished without being able to go through one point, James concedes to Anne's point.

Episode 46 You're On Blast![]

When Nanny Prescot is in touch with James Dontos, she asks how the Dontos family is doing to which James replies they are doing well.

Episode 64 Wilma Timber's Book Club or the Desperate Appreciation for Mike Timber Society[]

Wilma Timber calls up James Dontos to try and get him and Anne Dontos to join her book club which read books her son Mike Timber wrote and self publish. James says he is busy doing mayor business and when Wilma asks for Anne she tries to get him to say she is not in. She does however talk to Wilma, who wants her to come to her book club. She refuses to do so as the book is self published and says how he isn't a great writer. Wilma points out Anne's love for The Tales of Grasmere Valley book which are self published but Anne says she likes to catch up what's going on in the town.

Episode 71 Tiery Eyed[]

Nanny Prescot goes to see James Dontos at his house who is with his wife Anne Dontos as she complains to him as to why Grasmere Valley are placed in Tier 4 during the pandemic when there are zero cases in Grasmere Valley. James says how he is not ion control of the situation but it is Candice Waller's decision, to which Nanny Prescot says how useless she is. Bouncy Jess ends up coming onto the scene and when hearing Nanny Prescot idea rejects it vehemently as she feels if people are given an inch they will go a mile. In the end James decides to Zoom call Candice with them all there. Candice Waller turns out to be playing Among Us which was the main reason why she placed the town in Tier 4 so she wouldn't be interrupted. James tries to explain the situation and Candice refuses to budge on the issue. Nanny Prescot calls her out on why they are in Tier 4 and exposes the main reason is because she is playing the game. Candice says she would have to talk to the cabinet but Nanny Prescot fed up ends up hanging up on the call. It is revealed on the news by PK Simmons that the town is placed in Tier 1.

Episode 150 Ten Years of Grief in The Making[]

Nanny Prescot invites everyone who had been in her house to complain about Grasmere Valley to go back to the hotel where the celebration of the ten years anniversary of the book being released is still being held with James Dontos and Anne Dontos hosting and The Truger Girls there having had cooked everything fried there for people to eat.

When at church Nanny Prescot wonders who Jacob Schmitt is Anne Dontos gives her both Volume 49 Deluxe Edition and Volume 51 for her to figure out who Jacob is and his connections to Tessa Crab.

Aunt Gretta Bates says for Connie Parks to go to Anne for more information and The Tales of Grasmere Valley volume on Mariath Le Briosse saving the town financially.
